SMOKE ALARMS

The highest number of fires attended by fire and rescue services on record in a calendar year is 71,082, occurring in 1999/00, and if smoke alarms-smoke detectors had been installed in all of these homes, lives might have been saved. We install any make of smoke detectors, battery-only or mains operated with backup battery, both ionisation and optical types. PDI Electrical also install heat detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.

Our preferred brand to install is Aico, which is a quality product at a reasonable price.

The devices can be interconnected, so in the event of an alarm, all interconnected detectors will activate and sound an alarm simultaneously. We can also install devices for people who are hard of hearing.

You can save valuable minutes by installing smoke detectors in your property in the event of a fire.

The devices should be checked regularly by the residents to ensure that they are not malfunctioning, and should be replaced every 10 years.

All certification will be issued upon completion of works and we will notify Building Control as part of our service.
